Hotel Ratnagiri came into existence as an experimental project one spring day of 1997 while conversing with my wife over new business avenues. That day we both decided to venture into the world of hospitality with just 4 rooms and from then onwards we’ve never once looked back.  It has been a wonderful journey over the years meeting people from all over the world and many of whom have now become family.

While we strive to provide the best experience and comfort for you and your family’s stay here at Hotel Ratnagiri, we hope that you will equally enjoy and take in the natural beauty of Mirik while waking up to the sound of chirping birds, peaceful chants from the nearby Buddhist monastery, experience the laidback lifestyle of this small hill town while watching the morning fog lift up slowly to reveal the calm Samendu lake and Kanchenjunga on a clear day, breathing in fresh and clean air will without a doubt rejuvenate you and make you want to visit Mirik again.

The Hotel has rooms for the likes of every traveler like our higher-end Honeymoon suites and Family suites to mid-range Deluxe, and Double rooms. Kindly email/call for the room tariffs. All our rooms are spacious, bright with big windows facing either the famous Samendu lake or the Tibetan monastery and a few facing our private garden with balconies. The top tier of the Hotel has all-wooden cottage room suites. All bathroom units have a built-in shower attached with individual water heater. Every room is connected with electricity inverter which is turned on automatically during a power outage. There is a strict NO SMOKING rule inside our wooden rooms.

Mirik, a small town in the district of Darjeeling, at an altitude of 1,767 meters (5,800 feet), surrounded by tea gardens and hillocks is easily accessible to domestic and international travelers arriving via rail, road or air. Close to the Indo-Nepal border Pashupati Nagar, one can enjoy a small thrill ride of crossing over the border for a fee at the check post.

While in Mirik one cannot miss the vast forest of Cryptomeria Japonica trees which you can enjoy when strolling along the 1.25 km-long Sumendu Lake. The view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (the third highest mountain in the world) from various hilltops is spectacular. Attractions include the Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery, Singha Devi Temple, Swiss Cottages, Helipad, Boating and Horse riding around the Samendu lake, Orchid nurseries, Orange orchards, Thurbo Tea Estate, Okayti Tea Estate and Mirik Bazaar (shopping).
